Offers of help with names very welcome! And please say whether you agree or disagree with the suggested names.
Can’t wait to see the list of names ! I’m guessing Miss Brenda Thompson (Music) in the middle row on the far right. And maybe Mrs Ethel Wright (Maths) standing next to her on the end of that row?
Miss Dick (music) second from left on back row then Miss Muir 3rd from left on back row. Miss Lemmon, back row extreme right.
From, Barbara Roughton (nee Richards)
Miss Marjorie Beardsall was the secretary from 1947, so maybe it is her in the front row second from the right? (are the right answers included !)
No answers, I’m afraid! But I’ll look through the chronicles around 1948 over the next few days for any mentions of staff names.
Top row, 5th from left, is Miss Verrill, French teacher. Middle row, between Miss Mathews and Miss Braddick, is Miss Hempshall, Spanish and twice my form mistress. Great character. After she retired to Helpston, she invited me and two friends to dinner and served Vesta Paellas which had just come on to the market!
Back row far left Miss Bartlett; back row 2nd from right Miss Beaton; middle row to the left of Miss Thompson is probably Miss Marsden. I think the small fair-haired lady to the right of Miss Thompson is Miss Lemmon. Front row to the right of Miss Mathews is Miss Stevens, thenMiss Bearsall (secretary) and then Miss Muir. I could be wrong, of course.
I’d very much like to contact Marie Howard…we were in the same form,
and I very often try to recall the names of our form mates.
Sheila, with your permission I can send your email address to Marie.

Third from the right, top row was Miss Trinder. She left after a year to train as a missionary with her new husband, John Gilbey.
